What is valve clearance?

The gap between the valve stem and rocker arm (or tappet) when the valve is fully closed.


Why adjust it?


· Ensure proper sealing of combustion chamber.

When to adjust?


· As specified in the engine manual (e.g., every 500 hours).

· If unusual valve train noise occurs.

· After valve service or engine overheating.
